We administer MENVEO , a vaccine used for active immunisation of children (from 2 months of age), adolescents and adults to prevent invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, W-135 and Y. The use of this vaccine should be in accordance with the official recommendations.

Influenza (Flu)

Influenza (or “flu”) is an infection that is caused by the influenza virus. Pneumococcal (Pneumonia)

Pneumococcal disease is an infection caused by the streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria. Pneumococcal disease is often associated with causing pneumonia, but can also cause meningitis and blood infections in certain patient populations. There are two different pneumococcal vaccines that are needed in order for people to be protected against the many types of streptococcus pneumoniae that can cause infection. All persons aged 65 years and older are recommended to receive both the Prevnar13 ® and the Pneumovax23 ® pneumococcal vaccinations unless otherwise directed by their physician. For other aged patients, please contact your physician for further direction on whether you are eligible to receive these vaccinations.

Shingles

Shingles is a condition that is caused by the varicella-zoster virus which is the same virus that causes chickenpox. Varicella-zoster lies dormant in the spinal cord after one recovers from chicken pox but can reactivate later in life to shingles, which can have painful complications. All persons aged 60 years and older are recommended to receive the shingles vaccination, also known as Shingrix ®, unless otherwise directed by their physician.

Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

Pertussis, also commonly known as “whooping cough” is a very contagious respiratory infection caused by the bacteria bordetella pertussis. This condition can cause uncontrollable and violent coughing which can make it difficult to breath. It most commonly affects infants and children and can sometimes be fatal. All persons aged 18 years and older are recommended to receive this vaccination to not only protect themselves but also to prevent outbreaks in our younger population.
